  • This is a MOOG Voyager.  Robert Moog (inventor) is the father of the modern synthesizer.  When he initially started working with electronics to create sound, he was ridiculed and compared to the devil.  People didn’t understand the sounds that were coming out of his machines.  Now, there isn’t a major influential band around that hasn’t messed with one of these.
We have had ours for a year here at “The pool,” and it’s one of our most prized possessions.  I can’t tell you how many hours have been spent playing around with this thing.
Though quite expensive, there is no substitute for the tasty sounds that come streaming out of with nothing but a click on a key.
I find that the best thing about it, is that anyone, regardless of their musical talent/understanding can come by, toy around on the keys and twist the knobs and be mesmerized.
I set a click-through link on the photo that will take you to the Moog website.  They are doing some amazing things in Ashville, NC.

PS: There is also an amazing documentary about the late Bob Moog that is worth checking out.  He seems to be one of the most gentle men to have ever existed.
